Bite-sized cherry pies filled with a sweet cinnamon roll crust.

Easy to make with only 2 ingredients.

Popular with both kids and adults.

Ingredients

  • Cinnamon Rolls– Soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls make the crust for these tasty mini pies. Look for the regular size and not the jumbo. I used a can of Pillsbury Cinnamon Cinnamon Rolls but any brand will work for this recipe.
  • Cherry Pie Filling– You will only need one can and will have a little extra left over depending on how generously you top the cinnamon rolls. I used all the cherries and half the glaze.

How To Make Cherry Pie Cups

  1. Prepare the Pie Crust: Place each of the cinnamon roll dough in a greased regular-sized muffin pan and make a cup by pressing down the center and up the sides of the pan.
  2. Add the Filling: Add a little cherry pie filling to the center of each of the cinnamon rolls. I used 3-4 cherries and just a little filling.
  3. Bake: At 375 degrees, bake the pie cups for about 13-15 minutes and the outside edges of the cinnamon roll crust start to turn golden brown.
  4. Top with Icing: Once the pie cups have cooled slightly, drizzle the icing over the tops of each pie cup. Enjoy!

Variation Ideas

These pie cups can be made in a variety of ways. A few ideas to try:

  • Strawberry Pie Filling with Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls
  • Blueberry Pie Filling with Orange Cinnamon Rolls

Storage Options

To store: Allow the pie cups to completely cool and then store them covered in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Helpful Tips

* Allow the pie cups to cool for a few minutes before drizzling the icing over the top so it doesn’t melt down the sides too quickly.

* Use mostly cherries and a little filling to prevent overflow.

* This tastes fantastic warmed up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
