Easy Roasted Green Beans
Meal planning seems easy when thinking about the main dish. Some of my favorite easy dinners are Mississippi Chicken or One Pot Spaghetti and Meatballs. But coming up with a vegetable side dish can often leave me stumped.
That’s why these Roasted Green Beans are the perfect quick and easy side dish for almost any main meal. Versatile enough to enjoy with a weeknight meal but fancy enough to pair at a holiday dinner. They are tender with crispy ends, packed with flavor, and ready within 30 minutes. And I love how everything is in one pan so it’s an easy clean up too!

Versatile! The perfect compliment to any weeknight or holiday meal.
Ingredients
- Green Beans– It is important that you use fresh instead of frozen green beans. Green beans are flash-frozen, which means that there is an extra layer of water coating the beans. When thawed, they become much more tender and somewhat soggy. The taste and texture will not be the same when using frozen as it is when using fresh.
- Garlic Salt– Any brand or type of garlic salt can be used. My favorite is Lowry’s Garlic Salt with Parsley as seen in the picture. It is a much more coarse salt and gives a little extra powerful flavor.
- Grated Parmesan– While freshly grated parmesan would taste excellent, I found that pre-grated cheese also tastes delicious and works just as well.
- Olive Oil– Just a touch of oil helps the seasonings stick to the green beans and makes them a little crispy when baked.

How To Make Roasted Green Beans
- Prepare the green beans: Cut the stems off the green beans and evenly spread them out onto a sheet pan. Try not to overcrowd to help the green beans to cook evenly.
- Add seasoning: Drizzle or spray with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic salt.
- Roast: Place the pan in the oven and roast for 15-20 minutes flipping once halfway through using a spatula. This will all depend on the thickness of your green beans so you will want to watch carefully at the end to prevent them from burning.
- Add parmesan– Remove the pan from the oven, sprinkle with the parmesan cheese, and then return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes. Remove and enjoy!
Storage Options
To store: Store covered in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Helpful Tips
Try not to overcrowd the pan. Allow a little space between the beans to help them cook evenly.
The more coarse the salt, the stronger the flavor.
Keep an eye on the green beans near the end of the roasting time to prevent them from burning.
