ingredients

Ingredients

CHICKEN: boneless, skinless chicken breasts are typically what I use and have on hand but chicken thighs would work too.

HOT SAUCE: I use Frank’s Hot Sauce. It gives such a good flavor.

RANCH: any brand that you enjoy would taste great.

CREAM CHEESE: regular or neufchâtel cheese works equally well here.

CHEESE: I like the taste of sharp cheddar cheese in this dish. It give a nice punch to go with the spiciness of the hot sauce.

Variation options

CHICKEN– I recommend using boneless, skinless chicken breasts (this Slow Cooker Chicken is perfect) but chicken thighs could be used as well. They tend to give off a little grease so keep that in mind. Canned chicken could also be used instead of fresh. I would recommend using 2 cans.

HOT SAUCE – Frank’s makes a wing sauce that seems to be similar but is more mild and would be a good substitute.

RANCH– don’t have bottled ranch on hand? Try ranch seasoning. It might be a little spicier so you may want to reduce the hot sauce. If you want a more ranch taste- try 1-1/2 cups bottled ranch or add some ranch seasoning.

CHEESE– mild cheddar could be used in place of sharp for a little less cheesy flavor. You could also reduce the amount to 1 cup.
