Easiest Pizza Slider Appetizer

Hot and cheesy appetizers are some of my favorite recipes and these tasty Pizza Sliders hit the spot! They are made with Hawaiian rolls, marinara, any toppings of your choice, and lots of mozzarella cheese. Then they are topped with a parmesan garlic butter and baked until the tops are crispy and the centers are nice and cheesy. These tasty appetizers are perfect for parties, Super Bowl snacking, or hearty enough for dinner. The perfect recipe for even the pickiest eaters!

Easy! Only a handful of simple ingredients with only a few quick steps.

Clean up is a breeze since this dish is made in one 9×13- inch pan.

Ingredients

  • Hawaiian Rolls– These tasty little rolls make the perfect sliders. You could also use plain rolls for a less sweet taste.
  • Pizza or Pasta Sauce– Any brand or homemade version of pizza or pasta sauce will taste great in this recipe. I typically use whatever marinara we have on hand.
  • Mozzarella Cheese– This cheese melts so easily and tastes extra delicious when warm and gooey.
  • Toppings– The recipe is so versatile since you can use any topping you enjoy. I layered with half pepperoni and half just cheese in these pictures.
  • Butter– Yes you can use margarine but I think real butter just give it that extra savory flavor.
  • Garlic Powder and Italian Seasoning– A pinch of seasoning makes the topping taste more like a classic pizza.
  • Grated Parmesan– This can be optional but again adds a nice flavor and texture. Be sure to use grated and not shredded.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Cut: Start but cutting the tops off the rolls by slicing it horizontally in half. Put the tops to the side and add the bottoms to a 9×13-inch pan.
  2. Layer: Top each of the bottom rolls with a layer of pizza/pasta sauce, toppings, then cheese. Put the tops back on.
  3. Mix: Whisk together butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  4. Bake: Cover with aluminum foil and bake for around 20-25 minutes until the cheese is all melted through. I like to uncover and bake for another 2-3 minutes just to get the tops of the rolls extra crispy.
  5. Serve: Enjoy!

What To Serve With Pizza Sliders

Sliders are best known as an appetizer but they are also filling enough to be a main dish too. I like to pair this with simple sides like Easy Caesar Pasta Salad and Cranberry Pecan Salad, chips and The Best Homemade Guacamole or Fresh Tomato Salsa, or a sweet fruit salad like Creamy Cherry Cheesecake Fluff and Creamy Apple Grape Salad. Storage Options

To store: Store cooled slider sandwiches in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Helpful Tips

* Using a serrated knife makes it easier to cut the tops off of the Hawaiian rolls.

* You can cut the roll individually beforehand as pictured but I found that it is easier to cut them after baking.

* Bake an additional 2-3 minutes after removing the aluminum foil for extra crispy tops.

* Use any pre-cooked meat or veggies to make a variety of different pizza flavors.
