Easy Slow Cooker Plum Butter

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds plums pitted and quartered
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Add plums, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice to slow cooker. Stir well.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 8–10 hours until plums are very soft.
  • Blend with immersion blender until smooth.
  • Optional: For thicker butter, cook uncovered on LOW an additional for 1–2 more hours until thickened.
  • Cool, then store in jars.

Expert Tips:
  • Plum varieties: Red or black plums have all worked well for me. Each will give a slightly different flavor and color. No need to peel!
  • Sugar adjustment: Start with less sugar and add more after cooking if needed, depending on plum sweetness.
  • Storage: Refrigerate up to 3 weeks, freeze up to 6 months, or process in a water bath canner for long-term storage.
