Ingredients

  • 5 pounds apples cored and sliced (no peeling required)
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup apple juice or water
  • Pinch of salt to taste

Instructions

  • Core and slice apples. Add to slow cooker with brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, vanilla, juice/water, and salt.
  • Cook on LOW for 10–12 hours, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft and dark.
  • Puree with immersion blender until smooth.
  • Optional: For a thicker consistency, cook uncovered on LOW for an additional 1–2 more hours.
  • Cool completely, then transfer to jars or containers. Store in refrigerator or freezer.
